While Elation does not have a specific wound management feature, we have developed the following recommendations for how to best manage with the available functionality:
- Visit Note Template
- Problem List
- Elation Go - mobile app for documenting wound images
Visit Note Template
Create a wound management visit note template and add the list of basic wounds and status to the data section of the template. Don't forget to add document tags to aid in filtering the Chronological Record of the Patient's Chart!
Problem List
The Problem List is a repository for all of the medical issues or conditions that impacting a patient's health. This repository can include active, controlled or resolved issues or conditions. Each record in the Problem List can include an ICD-10 code, ICD-10 code description, a personalized title, the onset date of the issue/condition, the status of the issue/condition and additional notes.
Within Elation- on the left in the Clinical Profile- select Actions from the Problem List, and Add Problem
The type of Wound diagnosis can be added, as well as the status and a brief description related to the status. A note of caution- documenting treatment in this section would not be ideal, however it would be an easy reference point for the care team.
Once they problem is added, use the Action button to edit, export to note, mark as controlled/resolved, etc:
Elation Go
This feature is only available on iOS (Apple) devices. The major benefit is being able to take pictures of the wounds and have the upload of these images be linked to a pending Visit Note. For more information on the app-- see this article: Elation Go- The Mobile App for Practices
To use the app to document wound images- follow these steps:
