Code Status can be determined within CareHub and/or Elation.
CareHub Patient Tag of Code Status is derived from the Advanced Directive section of the Participant Profile-- this is aligned between CareHub and Elation.
Updates made to the Advanced Directive section in the CareHub Profile will update the Patient Tag in CareHub and Elation.
Note: updating the "Code Status" tag in Elation will update the tag in the the CareHub profile, it will not update the Advanced Directives section.
Elation has two special tags that are preloaded for two care directives to allow you to easily identify these instructions in the chart-- these tags will display in the CareHub profile, however do not update the Advanced Directive section within the CareHub Participant Profile:
- Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST)- The tag is called POLST and will display in pink.
- Do not resuscitate (DNR)- The tag is called DNR and will display in red.
NOTE: these can be added to your available Patient Tags settings via an Admin: Settings > Patient Tags (scroll to bottom to add new)
Best Practice recommendation is to outline in your Standard Operating Procedures your preferred method for keeping code status updated.
